On Monday you start the week with a lecture on descriptive statistics. Descriptive statistics means describing data with numbers, like the average. The lecturer explains how to summarise a dataset. A dataset is a large collection of numbers or data points. You take notes and ask questions. After the lecture you go through the material in your study guide.
On Tuesday you have a data analysis practical with R. R is a free computer program you use to analyse data. You work together with two or three fellow students. You load a real dataset and create graphs. Wednesday there is a lecture on probability theory. Probability theory is about the chance that something happens. This subject needs a lot of focus, because the formulas are complex.
