Educational assistant

After completing the MBO program Teaching Assistant, there are various career opportunities in the education field. As a teaching assistant, you can work in primary schools, where you support teachers in preparing and conducting lessons, provide individual guidance to students, and assist with administrative tasks. In secondary education, you often work with specific target groups, such as students with learning or behavioral problems, or you assist with practical lessons and projects. Additionally, there are opportunities in special education, childcare centers, after-school care, and private tutoring institutes. Many teaching assistants find work at municipal educational institutions or educational organizations that provide support to schools. The position also offers possibilities to grow into coordinator or leadership positions within educational support teams. Expected Developments The prospects for teaching assistants are excellent due to the growing teacher shortage and the increasing attention to individual student guidance. Inclusive education and care for students with specific educational needs create additional demand for qualified teaching assistants. Threats are limited, although budget cuts in education may temporarily affect job vacancies. The digitalization of education does require continuous training in educational technology.
