For a position as financial advisor, you need at least an HBO bachelor's degree, preferably in a field such as business administration, financial services, or economics. For HAVO/VWO, the Economics & Society (E&M) profile is most suitable, where mathematics and economics are important subjects for a good understanding of financial concepts. Many employers prefer candidates with a university background in economics, business administration, or finance. Additionally, industry-specific certifications (such as Wft diplomas) are often mandatory to work as a financial advisor.
As a financial advisor, you can advance from positions such as junior consultant, bank employee, or assistant advisor. Your career path leads to senior positions such as senior advisor, team leader, or office manager. Further growth opportunities lie in specializations such as wealth management, business advisory, or starting your own practice. The field offers stable prospects due to increasing demand for financial advice and pension planning.

This increases efficiency and enables more personalized advice, allowing advisors to focus more on strategic planning and client relationships.
