On Monday you start the week with anatomy and physiology. This subject is about how the body works, like the jaw, teeth, and surrounding muscles. You sit in a classroom with your classmates and the teacher explains how the chewing system works. Then you do exercises in your workbook. It is important to learn this well, because you will use this knowledge every day in your future job.
On Tuesday you go to the laboratory, a room with professional equipment for making dental prostheses. You practise with different materials: you learn to work with plastic, metal, and ceramic. The teacher shows you how to make an impression of a set of teeth. An impression is a mould of the teeth, so you can make a custom prosthesis. You work in small groups and help each other. On Wednesday you have occlusion theory, a subject about the correct position of teeth and jaws. You study how teeth need to fit together properly. This matters a lot, because a wrong position can cause pain.
