(RPA Operator) As an RPA Operator, you ensure the daily operation of automated processes within your organization. You monitor RPA bots that perform repetitive tasks, such as data processing, invoice handling, and reporting. When a bot gets stuck or makes errors, you resolve these issues and ensure processes run smoothly again. You work closely with process owners and IT teams to identify and implement improvements.
For this position, you need an MBO qualification at level 3 or 4, preferably in ICT, business administration, or a technical field. If you have completed HAVO or VWO, the E&M profile is most suitable due to the combination of mathematics, economics, and informatics. Knowledge of Excel and basic skills in process analysis are valuable. Practical experience with administrative processes can sometimes compensate for a formal ICT education.
You often start as an administrative employee or junior ICT support with an interest in process automation. As an RPA Operator, you can advance to RPA Developer, where you will build and program bots yourself. Subsequently, you can become an RPA Consultant and advise organizations on automation strategies. With experience, a role as Process Improvement Specialist or RPA Team Lead is possible.
AI strengthens your role as RPA Operator because intelligent automation can increasingly take over more complex tasks. You will work with cognitive bots that can read documents and make decisions based on machine learning. This shifts your focus from simple monitoring to managing smarter systems and training AI components within RPA solutions.
