Monday kicks off the week with a lecture on physical geography — geography about nature and landscapes. The lecturer explains how rivers change because of climate. You listen, take notes, and ask questions. After that, you have subject teaching methods, the course where you learn how to explain geography to students. In small groups, you discuss how to build a lesson.
On Tuesday, you go to your internship at a nearby secondary school. You teach a class yourself, guided by an experienced teacher. After the lesson, you write down what went well and what could be better. This is called reflecting. On Wednesday, you're back at the hogeschool [university of applied sciences]. You work on a project with your project group — a group of three or four students. Together you create a lesson series, which is a set of several lessons on one topic.
