Career Prospects after Anthropology Graduates of the master's in Anthropology find their way to diverse sectors where their expertise in human behavior and cultural dynamics is valued. The government offers opportunities at ministries dealing with international cooperation, integration and diversity, as well as at municipalities for policy work on multicultural issues. In the private sector, anthropologists are in demand at research agencies, consulting firms and international organizations that conduct market research and cultural analyses. Typical positions include policy officer, researcher, diversity and inclusion advisor, and cultural analyst. Anthropologists also find employment in the healthcare and welfare sector, for example at organizations working with refugees or at international NGOs. Education and the academic world also offer opportunities for those who want to specialize in research or teaching. Expected Developments Opportunities arise from increasing attention to diversity and inclusion in organizations, growing need for cultural understanding in international cooperation, and digitalization creating new forms of social interaction. However, limited funding for fundamental research and competition from graduates from related fields of study present challenges. Flexibility and additional skills in data analysis are therefore becoming increasingly important for a successful career.
